History
Snohomish, originally founded in 1860 under the name Cadyville, was renamed to Snohomish City in 1871, taking its name from the dominant local Native American Tribe. The town was one of the first inland cities in the Puget Sound region, placed between a proposed military road connecting Fort Stellacoom and Fort Bellingham.
