Kent Real Estate

History
Kent was once known as the "Lettuce Capital of the World;" the soil under the town is considered some of the most fertile farmland in the entire world. Previous floods of the Green and White Rivers from decades past contributed to the agricultural fertility of the Kent valley. During the Great Flood of 1906, the valley turned into a giant lake, as floodwaters rose up to two feet in some Kent houses. Now with the Howard Hanson Dam, the rivers are kept tame and the valley is open for normal living.
